Year             Spring 2019


This year, Year 2 have been learning how to write instructions and character descriptions. They have been creating settings using adjectives and expanded noun phrases. They have been listening to stories from different cultures. Year 2 have been writing an exciting letter to Mr Conway. Year 2 have also been adding homophones to the story’s about their local area. They have been letting their imaginations run wild by writing a story about Middlesbrough.



This year, Year 2 have been learning about how much things weigh. Year 2 have been learning about 2D and 3D shape pictograms and their properties. Along with this they have been practising adding and subtraction methods. Year 2 have been using measurement, in particular, length and height.



They are learning about habitats and how animals adapt to them. They have been creating maps of our localities. Also they have been leaning about animal habitats and making maps of our local area. Year 2 have been learning about plants and how they grow. Year 2 are going on a exciting school tip to Dorman Museum for the full day to see if they can end their topic fun with a lovely trip.   



Year 2 have been enjoying learning how to swim. They have been enjoying doing dances from all around the world. They have enjoyed indoor athletics and dance.


Year 2 have been interested in using the internet safely. They have been doing photography



They have been reading their favourite bible stories. Their new topic is Giving Thanks. Along with examining thanksgiving and The Last Supper, have been learning how to send the message of Christ the lord.


The children have been creating paintings of Heaven and Earth.
